I grew up in SoCal with three sisters and one brother (yes,
poor brother had to share a bathroom with four girls.  He's a
trooper!).  My dad is a graphic designer, my aunt a fine
artist, and my
other aunt a photographer.  All that creativity
looked like so much fun that I decided I wanted a career in
Illustration. After graduating from high school, I began the
Illustration & Design program at Brigham Young University in
Utah.  With four years of college under my belt, I headed out
to the Big Apple to do an internship with Harriet Barton at
Harper Collins.  It was a fabulous experience, and I loved
New York, but needed to complete a few more classes to
actually get a diploma.  After graduation, and in an effort to
stay out of my parent’s spare room (where I’m SURE I would
still be otherwise), I moved to Seattle.  In this beautiful city I
met my husband, Colby, who was attending the Art Institute
of Seattle studying Fashion Design.  We got married in
February of 2000, and after four years of marriage we
decided, “Hey, we’ve kind of got the hang of this marriage
thing…now let’s try the kid thing.”  We are still trying to get
the hang of the kid thing.  Our darling daughters keeps us
busy, but always amazed and entertained.  I’ve been
freelancing for eight years now, and there’s NOTHING I’d
rather be doing.
