Welcome! I'm Apryl, a New York Times bestselling author and illustrator with a passion for helping children grow through the power of stories.

 

My books are rooted in Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), helping young readers explore big feelings, build empathy, and understand themselves and others in meaningful, age-appropriate ways.

Whether I’m creating picture books that tackle everyday challenges or visiting schools to bring those stories to life, my mission is simple: to support emotional literacy, one story at a time.

Each visit includes:

• Behind-the-Scenes Look at what it's like to be an illustrator/author

• Where we find stories and why they're important

• How books are made

 

Visits may also include

• Hands-On Drawing or Writing Activities

• Customizable SEL Themes (e.g., resilience, kindness, self-regulation, friendship, etc.)

Perfect for K through Grade 5, with age-appropriate sessions that align with your school’s SEL goals.
